For those who live in warmer climate areas, every day could be an adventure of collecting various different insects. For those who live in the North Eastern Unites States Of America, we must patiently await season change to embark on our journey to explore nature in depth. When the weather becomes warm, I have personal spots that I am going to look for various vertebrates/invertebrates as well as some breeding supplies. My personal goals of this collecting season would be to acquire some Phidippus Audax, Phidippus Purpuratus, North Eastern Giant Millipede, Flying Squirrel pups, and an abundance of white rotting wood. What are your goals of this collecting season?

My goals for this year are: Some healthy female Eleodes caudiferus, Edrotes sp, more Eusattus muricatus, some sort of tiger beetle, jerusalem crickets, Chlaenius serenicus, Chlaenius tricolor, more Alaus melanops, and some Harpalus pensylvanicus.

 
Get more Calathus ruficollis for the Wet Substrate test and acquire ground-beetles in general.

Obtain some darklings wild at forests close by

Get more orange instead of white wood (seems more nutritious)

 
for me..... early spring or late winter is the only/best hunting season for rugose/platycerus and ceruchus

and summmer for tiger beetles :3

 
I would like to also find an egg sac of Phiddipus Audax. Wish me luck guys! Any other collecting goals for this year? Its getting warm quickly.

Ugh, this weather is killing me lol. My goals this year are to expand on my collection of buprestids, cicindelids, cerambycids, and scarabs (specifically dung beetles). If I'm lucky, I'll find my first Buprestis rufipes. There's a nice wooded area near me where I know people have found them before, so that'll be a big one. I'm also going to be breeding some sprassids and ctenids this year, so that'll be fun too

My main goals are still to catch more darklings and carabids, and I really want to try to successfully breed some carabids. I also wouldn't mind getting some more click and rove beetles.

 
My goals for this year are megasoma vogti, again,lots more wsrriors since there starting to come out again and vindex too, maybe some dynastes tityus and valgus too

 
Today was awesome. The trees finally are in bloom and wildlife is flourished. I managed to spot Cicindela Sexguttata in a sandy area of the forests, but was unable to capture it due to its speed. I also found a big stink bug. However, the time in the woodlands were harsh due to the amount of gnats flying behind my ears and trying to get in my eyes. My most lucky find today was some more rotting black birch breeding logs that are perfect in size. About a week ago, I also spotted at least 3 Phiddipus species of jumping spiders. Fun times.

 
Well, had some success yesterday when I caught a female Phaneus vindex. I've also managed to collect a few new species of buprestid, but haven't had a ton of luck with those this year. Finally, I caught a Dyrobius sexnotatus longhorn beetle earlier in the month, so that was a huge score

Any collecting goals for this year? I hope to find some Northern Black Widows along with Dynastes tityus adults.

 
There are always new goals!

This year I hope to add at least 5 new species of Chlaenius to my collection (1 so far).

I also would like to find a few new species of Cicindelidae I dont have (1 so far also).

I will be in AZ for tens days starting this weekend, hoping to get some C. purpurea at high elevations on Mount Graham. Maybe another Pasimachus viridans.

And now that I know where to find them, I hope to find some pill millipedes on my late summer trip up to northern CA.

 
Just more Tenebrionids for me, unfortunately I've got some health problems now that make it nearly impossible for me to go outside in warm, sunny weather, so I probably won't be catching any.
