I plan on breeding this species but ever since I've moved, I have not been able to find any juniper trees near me. Do adults need to feed on juniper leaves or are they able to breed without feeding?
I think you can use beetle jelly. It's been awhile since I was breeding them but I remember there was a time I ran out of Juniper and I fed them beetle jelly and they seem fine.
From what I hear they live much shorter lives than normal on just a jelly diet, and don't lay much without host plants to feed on... At least that's what I've heard, @Lucanus knows more I'm pretty sure.
