Chemically Decomposing Flake Soil

Not sure if there are many people in this forum who are familiar with chemistry, but I was always wondering if its possible to create a product that is similar to white rotten wood with parts of the Kraft process. The Kraft process could potentially be used to breakdown the lignin-cellulose bond and dissolve the lignin by heating up the wood in a solution of Sodium hydroxide and Sodium Sulfide. The cellulose will largely remain with only small amounts of lignin. There are some videos out there that have done this with small pieces of wood that seemed to come out of this process retaining its original shape (NileRed's Making Transparent Wood video). If you washed this wood product quite well (since high levels of dissolved sodium would be quite toxic), I would imagine it could conceviably be used like a white rotten log, or the resulting pulp could be used as an additive similar to white rot wood flakes? The only issue I see here is that it should probably fermented slightly to let beneficial bacteria grow. Curious on everyone's thoughts.
