checking on my goliathus goliatus larvae

I asked this before but doing my research I'm getting conflicting information. How often should I check on my goliathus goliatus larvae? Someone had mentioned to check on it once a month and I followed that for a bit, but my care sheet said to sift through the substrate to get out food and waste often, which if I'm doing it right would involve me taking the grub out of the substrate right?

well checking on them by taking them out yeah. I have to if I sift through the substrate to get rid of the uneaten food and waste. I only do it about once a week since it eats all the food I've given it. I also use this time to weigh it, since I read that it'll weigh less than normal if it's about to pupate. I was just curious if I was checking on it too much.

Mykei - Nope, they are pretty hardy, you won't bother them. I always place the pellets right in front of them so that they find and eat them quickly.

Check on the grubs several times a week at least, and you can sift the substrate so it can be reused. I've read articles and seen pictures that show people washing the grubs

with water to clean the spiracles. A much different animal than the Dynastes and Lucanus a lot of us are used to.

When it's ready to pupate, it will lose weight, it will also stop eating and look for the substrate to do it in. I fed my grub a couple times a day, and never

found uneaten food. My care sheet never mentioned moistening the koi pellets, probably because of mold developing quicker. We get a care sheet from the breeder,

the seller, and expect it to contain the best information possible, the reality is that often it won't, or it only contains one person's experiences.

That's why you get conflicting information, you have to put all the information you can into a blender, and drink it down😕.

Keep notes, and you can add them to the smoothie at some point.
