While I'm far from an expert in this species, I don't see a lot on care (other than in Orin's Ultimate Guide/ Handbook) so I figured I would collect some things here.
I'm using both females I bred myself and some fresh WC adults (from BIC) this year, and hope to use all CB stock next year.
No plans to breed at scale, just attempting to establish a stable colony.
What worked for me last year:
1. Basic instructions as outlined in the Ultimate Guide (tote with 8" soil, add dung, remove balls every few weeks)
Things to try/figure out:

- This setup is very heavy, so set it up where you intend to keep it (I used my attached garage)
- I tried dog, tortoise, and human (from infant diapers). Tortoise was strongly preferred, while dog was accepted occasionally, Human (thankfully) did not appear to be consumed at all
- Sorting through soil can take a fair amount of time, since you need to be careful not to disturb balls. Balls are almost always at the very bottom of the container, so you don't need to worry much about the top layer of soil once you have found the adults.
- Balls created later all failed for unknown reasons, possibly due to storage conditions. Planning to try to fully submerge balls in semi moist soil this time.
Things to try/figure out:
- Housing - how to use less dirt, best containers, etc.
- Supplementary food - spoiled meat, etc.
- Male/female ratio, when/if to remove males, ratio, etc.
