Drove out to pick up pizza earlier and caught myself scrutinizing every small, dark object under the lights in any parking lot I passed. Although this is normal behavior starting in late May, I've already found two C. scrutator not even trying. I've got the "collecting bug" early and can't wait for the first full-fledged collecting trip of the season...

Should be a nice year for collecting !!

 
heh in the summer i find myself getting out of my car just to inspect bits of mulch under lights (hoping it was a tityus or something)

 
I would scan the parking lot lights for cool insects but there is no species worth anything where I live. :/
