I recently collected some Amblycheila cylindriformis, and would like to know how to breed them. Does any one have any advise?

First off, WOW, we need pictures ASAP!

Secondly, they only seem to oviposit in clay-like soil similar to what the larvae are often found in in the wild, they won't oviposit in loose substrate like coconut fiber, sand, potting soil, etc. Additionally, seasonal cues may be required for breeding, dry spells followed by wet periods, etc. Check out this post on Bugguide.

I load my pictures to photobucket and copy and paste the image URL in order for photos to show on here. Just a suggestion.

I think something like this mixed with a little sand to keep it from being too compact or muddy will work nicely for them.

They might have that substrate at the local pet shop, I'll have to check.
