    Is the beetle hobby dying/dead?

I also think all the restrictions preventing the distribution of beetles in the U.S. has impeded the hobby’s growth.

Yes, there is so much valuable information here! I wonder if we could have a fundraiser or something to help with the increasing funds.

Will a female beetle lay eggs if her enclosure doesn't contain flake soil?

I have bred ox beetles in a substrate comprised of around 60% well-rotten leaves, the rest being wood and compost.

    Tetracha carolina?

Is anybody else keeping Tetracha carolina? If so, I can’t seem to find much information on breeding them and want to breed my adults. I think Cicindelids should be more common in the hobby. -Thank you!

    Goliathus difficulty?

Hello, I have not kept Goliathus in the past, as I have heard they are a more advanced species to keep. Nevertheless, I have kept Cotinis nitida for a few generations and successfully raised them through pupation. How difficult is Goliathus, in comparison to Cotinis? Thank you!

    Looking for Palawanicus female

Hello, several months ago I aquired a Dorcus titanus palawanicus pair from Gallegos Zoological Supply. I was stressed out because I had heard stories about the male killing the female. They lived well together for about 2 months until I discovered the female dead, her body split apart. The male...

    Eduardo

Hello, my name is Eduardo and I am 12 years old. I know I’m young, but I started my insect collection at the age of 4 and “bugs” are basically my life. Over the years, I have gained an obsession for inverts, and beetles especially fascinate me. I started breeding beetles at the age of 7, where I...
