    Freebie stag beetle

    Yeah, that's a good conclusion. I was thinking about the possibility of it being a species of a smaller mandible stag, but It's most likely a minor with a beta mandible type.

    Freebie stag beetle

    I ordered a minor Japanese rhino beetle and it came with this guy too. I have a few guesses as who he can be but I'm unsure. If anyone can't tell and needs higher quality photos I will take them! I just didn't want to handle the poor guy after he went through shipping

    Pupation soil for Goliath

    I have been collecting pupation soil and I recently bought 1.5 quart of pupation substrate from beetle source, but I’ve been anxious if it’s not enough. I’ve seen Japanese breeders use Akadama soil? Would it be good to add pupation substrate and akadama soil on top?

    How do I keep goliath beetle larva alive for a week?

    I am going away for a week to something that I can't excuse myself from, and I have just recently received my L2 GOP larva.. I've seen something say that if you mix glucose, agar agar, and koi food it could keep them fed, but I don't know for sure. Has anyone else dealt with this???

    Kona wood pellets for Goliath larva?

    I was reading  https://www.beetlebreeding.ch/archiv/goliaengl.htm which was a breeding report and It stated that since they are specialized on acacia and  they don't like other kinds. Is this the same for ones which were capture bred. If so, is Kona 100% pure acacia pellets a good choice to mix...
