New site up with all the info on rearing beetles (US natives)

Check it out if you would like, finally put up a page on how to breed out natives. I will do periodical blog updates and add new species' care guides as I get to them, so there will be comprehensive guides on how to rear Rutela, Stenodontes, and the more niche Lucanids and Dynastids in the US...

Sexing/determining the sex of Phileurus truncatus - triceratops beetle

Sexing Phileurus truncatus - there is a lot of confusion over sexing Phileurus, as both genders of this species have horns. Thus, we need to use the last abdominal section of the adults. Note how they are different as the following indicates.

Anyone else here breed bycids? There’s so many huge and amazing US native ones. I’m genuinely shocked so few people work with them.

Anyone have ever gotten WF2 Lucanus elaphus?

I have heard from 2 friends now that elaphus don't go past F2, I have never been able to do them consistently either. Anyone out there with some tricks? I would love to hear about how you did it!

    Lucanus capreolus

The first lucanid I’ve ever kept is Lucanus capreolus. It’s really all it’s fault I keep beetles today.  One of my fav Lucanids in the world really. They have a sort of simplistic beauty

    Goliathus goliathus

Beautiful pets from BiC! I’m 99% certain I know which awesome beetleforum member sold this pair to BiC initially, along with all their very healthy and large Coleopteran inventory. Wonder if I got it right. He has an suspiciously familiar beetleforum name…
