How long is the usual molting time from L1 to L2? I wouldn't want to handle them in the middle of molting. I know to handle them around once a month for a general check-up, but what if that was the time they were molting? How would i know this?

Would this kind of wood be suitable for granti larvae to feed on,  it will be at the bottom of my container with some flake soil.
