In an attempt to make kinshi, i bought some king oyster mushroom dowels. When i received them however, most of the dowels were covered in blackish/brown looking things which i assume it's mold. So i have been fermenting oak pellets for about 2 years or so, but for some reason they aren't generating as much heat for me these days. The temp is around 23-25C, so i know it's not the temp problem. Last time i put in too much flour so it screwed up the sub pretty bad, and i tried adding more...

Does freezing the substrate kill all the beneficial bacteria in the sub?

received a pair a few days ago, hopefully, i can breed them. They don't seem interested in laying in fermented substrate, so i decided to mix organic compost, fermented substrate, sand, grass, and rotten oak leaves.

Not sure if infected is the right word, but two of my p.muelleri larva has something like this, not sure what happened with them. It looks like this one is gonna start making a pupal cell soon, anyone got any ideas on what this thing is?
