ID for Beetles found in PA?

A friend of mine found these beetles in a stump. I am wondering if anyone can help identify the species? I was thinking Lucanus capreolus?

it looks like lucanus elaphus female to me

First specimen is a male Lucanus capreolus.

Second specimen is a Neandra brunnea female (I believe).
