Weird spots on PELIDNOTA beetle

Susy

L1
Hello! begginer here, I need help.

My beetle is a male, Pelidnota Sordida. And he lives with a female, just the two of them.

Until a few days ago, he didn't have these spots. Over time, they have been increasing (photos attached). What would that be? What could I possibly do to "help" him?

🚨just checked on him; he was burrowing under the substrate and has now emerged after a few hours with more spots. There are **no other bugs** in the substrate besides the female pelidnota.

I’m sorry for your loss, sometimes they get strange fungal infection for unlikely variables. At this point change out the substrate in case it is the cause of the infection to save the female.

Thank you so much. Yes, I changed all the substrate and the female seems fine for now.
