Hi I saw quite a few of these guys on my walk home today and wondered what they were. They are maybe half an inch. I live in Austin Texas if that helps with a id thanks a bunch.

Some sort of Blister beetle, which species, I'm not sure.

Thanks I looked up blister beetles looks like the larvae would be difficult to raise in captivity a shame such a vibrant red.
