    Possibly injured pupa

I have my Dynastes grantii in deli cups stacked on my dresser, and one in one of the bottom cups pushed up and toppled 2 cups over on the floor. One escaped and i'm sure is dead somewhere, and the other was either already a pupa, or in the process. The pupal cell collapsed, so I gently dug it...

    Tiny June Beetles - ID?

A guy dumped some dirt on the property and I found these guys in it. The dirt had some sand and St. Augustine grass in it. I think it was scraped off his lawn. Anyway, I found these guys running through it. They play dead when you pick them up, but soon start running. They are really small...

ID Needed - Caterpillar found under bark

Does anyone know what this is/turns in to? I've found about 3 under the bark of rotting oak trees eating the wood. I've searched online and can only find this picture posted on bugguide.net, but not identified. Thanks.

Rotten Oak - Wet and Orange

I found a rotten oak tree on the ground that I was gathering for my grubs. Some of the wood is really wet, darker orange and kinda shreds stringy. When I squeeze it in my hand orange water comes out of it. I'm not sure if it's just too wet, in a different stage of decay, or if something was...

    Pseudoscorpions

I recently found 3 of these on some rotting oak logs. Does anyone have any advice on trying keep a small colony of them? Sorry for the blurry photos, it's hard to get my camera to take clear pictures that close up.

    Longhorn Beetle Grubs - ID?

I found both of these in a rotten oak log. The big one is over 2 inches long. I was wondering if anyone is familiar enough with longhorns to guess at a species. Does anyone know the best way to keep them? Right now I just have them in some of the rotten wood I found them in. From reading online...

I found these in a garden bed. I'm thinking they are just june bug grubs, but I thought I'd see if anyone could tell me for sure.

    Strategus aloeus?

My cousin found this guy while digging up some sand. It was on the same property that we found the grubs, so I'm assuming he's strategus aloeus also, but it would be great if someone can confirm that. He's my first beetle, so I'm a little biased, but I think he is very handsome. We named him Thor.

My found grubs (Assumed to be strategus aloeus)

Only one of them is still hanging around the surface. I put them in separate containers yesterday. I have 6 right now. There were 7, but one started turning grey then black, which I found out equals dead. Some of the pictures are a bit blurry. The focus on my camera isn't always that great close...

    New member from Texas

Hi. My uncle broke open an old log with the dozer and 6 giant grubs fell out. He brought them to me and I did some online searching and here I am lol. After a few days of researching, I'm fairly certain they are L3 strategus aloeus. I'm going to attempt to raise them and breed them. I never knew...
