Are Blue Death Feigning Beetles Legal In Pennsylvania?

Recommended Posts

I've been looking to get some BDFBs but because don't live there is it illegal to get them? I saw a discussion from 2017 and 2014 and it looked like if they are out of state then the answer is no. Have the rules change? Because I was looking on James' Beetle Farm and the only terms were about shipping, nothing legal related. I know they probably wouldn't live the winter and they wouldn't hurt anything if they got loose but I still want to know if it's legal. Thanks.

From what I understand, moving insects and native animals across state boarders are illegal. But currently the regulations on beetles seems pretty relaxed, and I don't think they are even considered pests, so I doubt anyone will give you any trouble for buying them and getting them shipped over.

I don't know I don't want to break the law

There can be so many laws that everyone is a lawbreaker. Ever go over the speed limit?

I found a post on the forum with this. It says you can ship or import into or within CA all bugs in the Lucanidae family. Also do we just use CA because it's the most regulated state, it's the main port for stuff or did I just see two people use CA laws because they live there and assume it meant something?

thats js the state law  and state law is not above the federal law and they are banned under federal law so no its not legal to import those and even then you would still need a wild life import permit.
