Found quite a few of these in Allegan and Grand Haven Michigan. I collected a few to hopefully start a breeding project. If anyone knows anything about breeding and/or keeping these feel free to post I am thinking they are omnivorous. I think I remember being told a few years back, but I cannot remember where.

Found this in Grand Haven Michigan in a wood pile. At first I thought it was some sort of larva, but realized it has wings. This thing had me confused for a few minutes. I am thinking it is some species of rove beetle. Assuming it is carnivorous for now.

This decently large beetle singled me out and landed on me. Was flying straight at me, and as I turned, it turned with me so it landed on my back. I have to say that this was a first. Took it home to figure out an ID. Figured I would share the couple images I took. Guess I should have taken some with it out of the container. I let it go outside after figuring out what it was. I can't really keep anything that needs a lot of wood right now anyways, and you can't really breed something when you only have one.
