Eygptian dung beetles

Recommended Posts

Hey Kevin,

You'd be lucky if you found anyone state-side that could sneak any in. USDA is worried about spreading hoof-and-mouth, so they would have to come from a breeder outside of Africa where you would buy captive bred ones. If I remember correctly, I THINK South America was ok to import D.B.s from (would have to look it up again), and there are some really cool ones there - but you would need to find someone to collect them.

I am open to natives but I do like those ones too. Anyways looking up FMD I don't see any documents stating that FMD is correlated with dung beetles, I could be wrong and the only thing that could be a source would be FMD be in poop which is a food source for the larvae of dung beetles. Hmmm shouldn't the USDA release research papers saying this, where could I find a few papers?
