I have a book called Insects Their Natural History and Diversity by Stephen Marshall with a photograph of a live specimen of this darkling. It appears to be an undoctored photo and the animal is striped in metallic red, blue, green and gold, incredible for a darkling. I found a few photos online and they're just black. ?
