Lucanus
Seems that 69mm is the most accurate measurement for now. Need to buy a digital caliper. lol

Need to buy a digital caliper. lol I bought my digital calipers a couple years ago from Lowes for about $30. Simply indispensable when accuracy counts! pannaking22
Very cool! It's such a nice species. I'm really hoping the larva I have pupates for me soon, but I'm guessing it's not going to happen this year. Probably not going to be a monster like this guy is though! Dynastes
Are you sure those aren't granti crosses? The horn structure and spotting seems so non-tityus. Great job either way, they look great!

Great job either way, they look great! I'm pretty positive that they are 100% D. tityus. Mom was collected as a larva in Montgomery, AL and dad was collected as adult in Duncan, SC. Perhaps mixing these two from different areas gave me this awesome horn structure? Thank you for a warm comment

Greatwun
Amazing specimen. I didn't know it took so long for them to turn yellow. I thought it was an overnight process.
Lucanus
Amazing specimen. I didn't know it took so long for them to turn yellow. I thought it was an overnight process. Apparently, it takes couple of weeks and even month for some to get their beautiful yellow markings after emergence. Same goes for grantii.
