Greatwun
Would anyone be able to tell me what species of beetle this grub belongs to? I pulled it out of the base of an oak tree where the wood was decomposing. The larva is quite large. Below is a pic of the larva and where I pulled it from. Today was my first attempt at trying to find Dynastes tityus larvae and I was following the advice of other who posted about looking for them inside the base of dying oak tree. This was the only larva I was able to find today.

Greatwun
After comparing pictures I do notice the head capsule is too small to be Dynastes. :sigh: And so the search continues for some D. Tityus! Thank you guys for the help.
