  1. were they caught in PA? if yes what county? what substrate did you use?
  2. Any one here have experience with breeding L. adolphinae and L. tasmaniae? I get them in a week or so and just wanted to here first hand experiences. Thanks.
  3. grapevine beetles are pretty fun and have a surprising amount of color variation. when I lived in southern PA I would find some with dark legs and some with light/tan legs.
  4. if temps get too high that can make them surface as well as lack of oxygen in some cases
  5. then turkey tail is best. I would look up and double check with each species.
  6. All depends on what beetle you want to raise. I am growing king oyster as that is good for dorcus and other stags.
  7. I have been doing a lot of research of what are the best types of trees to use for stags/rhinos lately but I have come across alot of conflicting info so I would like to know what your experiences are but not necisarally what you have heard on types of wood for substrate. Have any of you produced a major male stag without oak/beech? have any of you guys found stags/rhinos in wood that was clearly not oak/beech? And what are any other experiences that you have had with or without oak/beech? Thanksâ˜ș
  8. As far as I know, they do not lay unfertilized egg sacs. Some eggs may be duds but you definitely have a chance. Good luck!
  9. I dump unwanted or spent sub outside to decompose in my garden.
  10. I saw a website awhile back that sold dung beetles from FL to other states for those who have farms for dung decomposition. They included in their "pack" some phanaeus and others. I would not think they could survive just because of the cold. If there was a mild winter then maybe one generation. This is just speculation as I don't have any facts to back this up.
