Finally I saw a larva the other day. It is a good size and I am surprised that I didn't see any smaller ones when I looked through the substrate last week.

Love the Ischnoptera deropeltiformis.

They feel like wood or bone to the touch and are not as heavy as I thought they looked.

They are great. I just got a few more from Peter. Hopefully they will start laying, as all they seem to do is mate when they are active. Orin, Do you have any suggestions on how I can get past the tiny larvae stage? That is all I have ever gotten, but I also had Eleodes with them at the time. Now the container has around 10 A. verrucosus and 1 Diabolical Ironclad that has been there since I got the first beetles.

They look darker than the ones I have seen. For me that is prettier cause I like a dark roach even if I have no love for Blatella germanica. The possibility of infestation is frightening.

It looks like mold. :/ Will it hurt the pupa?

He is lovely. <3 He still has his belly button? That is cute. It would be cool to see a photo of it. Sometimes, I find young anoles with their umbilical stubs still in place, but after they get older, I have to look for the belly button. It is still there but hard to see.

Is he a skink? What species is he?

AWESOMENESS! I just took one in the other day and would love to learn more about these great plants. Some species have been known to grow wild around here.

I love the way those look! I read that they can secrete something harmful, after I let a couple of them walk on my hands. I even picked one up with my fingers and felt how soft it was. I guess I was lucky. They didn't do anything but walk on me.

Well, he is a nice, big, and dark G.portentosa.

Is it Gromphadorhina oblogonata ? Nice dark coloring on that one.
