I bought my digital calipers a couple years ago from Lowes for about $30. Simply indispensable when accuracy counts!

Are you sure those aren't granti crosses? The horn structure and spotting seems so non-tityus. Great job either way, they look great!

 

I'm pretty positive that they are 100% D. tityus. Mom was collected as a larva in Montgomery, AL and dad was collected as adult in Duncan, SC. Perhaps mixing these two from different areas gave me this awesome horn structure?

Amazing specimen. I didn't know it took so long for them to turn yellow. I thought it was an overnight process.

 

Apparently, it takes couple of weeks and even month for some to get their beautiful yellow markings after emergence. Same goes for grantii.
