Here are two species of Rhinos I've found here in Bolivia. The first (first 2 photos)is rather common here and is usually around 4cm. The second (last 2 photos) a monster of a beetle (8cm), have been showing up dead around my house lately. I've yet to find a live one . Any help with IDs would be great.

This large, beautiful beetle was given to me the other day here in Bolivia. It was much more green at the time, but the light green coloration has worn off. Any ideas what it is?

Found a few more of these guys in Costa Rica, males and females.

Any ideas what species this is? My friend found it in Ecuador.

Found this guy at a light near Arenal Volcano in Costa Rica. Any ideas on the species. My best guess is a Canthidium sp.

Sorry, my first post was to "beetle pictures", not "Introduce Yourself". I am interested in anything involving nature but am especially interested in entomology and herpetology. I use to raise a lot of herps and exotic insects but these days I am on the move too often to build much of a collection so I focus on photographing and enjoying creatures in the wild. I am currently in Costa Rica but will soon be living in Bolivia. I found my first Rhino Beetle the other day (photos posted in "beetle pictures") here in Costa Rica which has been a favorite creature of my since childhood. I hope to encounter more interesting beetles during my time here in Costa Rica and I am open to any suggestions as to the best way or places to find Rhinos or other beetle giants here. Jay

Found this beauty in San Jose, Costa Rica. Yes, in the middle of the city. I do not have a good key here so could someone tell me the species?
