  1. You know all this illegal stuff is illegal... but where is the enforcement? there are hundreds of websites were people are devoted to selling insects and shipping them across state lines on a daily basis but there seems to be absolutely no repercussions. yea its illegal but no one is doing anything to stop it so whats the point of it being illegal in the first place?
  2. Share the wealth lol! Very nice finds Ryan i wish i could find more wood boring species in my area
  3. I collected 4 Cicindela repanda yesterday afternoon and placed them in pairs in 5 gallon aquariums under a floresent light with another regular bulb for added light and heat. They did a good job hitting the glass when i first put them in their inclosures, that was before i had the floresent light above them, once i had that they calmed down quite a bit and started to act naturally. I havent seen them try and fly at all yet, excep when i collected them and had them in deli cups... ill try and get some pictures up soon
  4. Thanks for the advice! Ive done a little reading up on keeping tigers and apparently to keep them from trying to escape you need to have them under a good light, besides the light and some natural soil collected from were the adults were found they are apparently prety easy to keep, i hope i can find some adults to add to my ollection =-)
  5. Does anyone have any experence raising any tiger beetles? I've been out looking for specimens all week and i think i found the spot to find them, im pretty sure i found a few larval holes so im hoping when it warms up that ill find some adults. Any of you have any experence finding these beetles in the field? im not even intirely sure what the larvae burrows look like, or how big they actually are, the only pictures ive seen have been way close-ups with no gide for size...
  6. Im currently keeping a small colonie of Gromphadorhina portentosa (madagascar Hissers), another small colony of Blaberus discoidalis (discoid roach) and a large colony of B. dubia for feeders. all i have to say is i love my roaches, their fun to play with, and easy to care for. Im not familuar with anyone keeping C. Punctulatus, ive actually never even heard of/ seen in the hobbie...
  7. Tiny Little buggers aint they =-)
  8. Freaking awesome! i want me a pair of those guys =-) P.S. your timestamp on your camera is a day in the future tho, lol!
  9. That last one looks like a P. Regalis! very impressive, are you using lost wax casting for those or some over method?
  10. the beauty of doing tats on a round surface is that you coul do two beatles, one from the side and one from the top and get both angles for the horns =-) Nice work by the way, might have you do some work for me
  11. nice looking little scorps there =-) i collected about 15 centroides vitatus this summer down in southern colorado... im a big fan
  12. man, i wish i could find stuff like that in the winter around here! Im really starting to hate colorado lol
  13. This same problem of legallity exsists in the mantid trade as well but somewere down the line a bunch of illegal species got here, and now you can find them sold openly on the internet even though they are illegal... i believe it boild down to the lack of inforcement on the laws that are on the books... just something i though prevelant to the convs...
