a.ojala
Two of my ox beetle larvae started to pupate last week. I've seen people put pupa into a man made chamber. So my question is based on; at what point can I remove the pupa from its original cell and place it in the man made cell, And how do you construct a cell? Thanks for your time
Lucanus
I usually take out mine after a week from molting into pupa You can make pupal cells out of clays, floral foams, substrates, etc...
Danny
i think a week is plenty of time, usually you want to wait until the color is orangish to remove, tho its not recommended that you move them unless absolutely necessary. the reason I moved mine was because I took the male out for photo and due to the dryness, his cell collapsed so I'd no choice but to build him another one.
